En ese proceso de autoexploración, la artista ha sufrido una auténtica reencarnación y regeneración, donde pilares de su personalidad que consideraba inamovibles, se han derrumbado para dar lugar a nuevas construcciones. El proyecto “Nueva Ophelia” quiere representar ese proceso de muerte y resurrección. La acción se desarrolló en el Alberche, durante la residencia artística en La Juanhaus. Por un lado la artista se dejó llevar por la corriente durante horas en una acción que recordaba la Ophelia de Millais. En el devenir de las aguas, Marta quedaba varada en un campo que había sido arrasado por un incendio en la última primavera. Cuando llegaba allí, se levantaba fuerte, feminista y empoderada como ave Fénix. Esta nueva Ophelia pisa fuerte por el mundo, marcando su nuevo estatus en la sociedad.

El proceso fue recogido en un libro de artista (no publicado) en el que lo antiguo y lo moderno se fusionan para dejar constancia de estos nuevos pasos en la sociedad.

In this process of self-exploration, the artist has undergone an authentic reincarnation and regeneration, where pillars of her personality that she considered immovable, have collapsed to give way to new constructions. The “New Ophelia” project wants to represent that process of death and resurrection. The action took place in the Alberche, during the artistic residency at La Juanhaus. On the one hand, the artist was carried away by the current for hours in an action that was reminiscent of Millais’s Ophelia. In the course of the waters, Marta was stranded in a field that had been devastated by a fire last spring. When she got there, she stood up strong, feminist, and empowered like a phoenix. This new Ophelia stomps around the world, marking her new status in society.

The process was collected in an artist’s book (unpublished) in which the old and the modern merge to record these new steps in society.
